Thank you to everyone who made it out last week! We had another stellar  turnout this year, selling nearly 10,000 native trees and shrubs to over 150  people. Thanks to your support, we're able to keep doing this year after year.

For those of you who weren't able to place an order for last week, you're in luck  because we've got leftovers! Stop by or call our office to get yourself a wide  variety of native seedlings. As of today, all remaining plants are selling at 50%   off. We hope to see you soon!

We're once again partnering with Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and the County Extension Master Gardener Program to offer an educational, outdoor experience at Port Oneida this Friday, May 5th, from 1-4pm. Come learn how to maintain neglected apple and pear trees and work with us to get them healthy and producing again! The workshop is free to attend and no pruning skills are required. Come early (10am at the Kelderhouse farm) to help expand the existing orchards by planting recently grafted antique varieties. Natural Resource Specialist Tom Adams will be leading a grafting demonstration later in the day. Contact Kim Mann at 231-326-4771 or kimberly_mann@nps.gov to learn more or register to attend!

Spring is on the way and the 2023 Native Plant Sale is open for orders! This year's sale is similar to the past few; plants can be ordered ahead of time in 38-plug garden kits, each containing a variety of native species that grow well together in a specific niche. Have a wet spot in the yard? Try the Rain Garden kit and enjoy bright-red cardinal flowers and stunning swamp milkweed while soaking up some of that excess water. Looking to start a native meadow? The Grassland kit is the one for you. Want to do your part for the local pollinator population? The Pollinator kit contains a season-long assortment of beautiful blossoms beloved by bees.
