Leelanau Conservation District (in response to COVID-19 pandemic virus)
Due to the current coronavirus pandemic and to protect the health of our community the Leelanau Conservation District office is closed to all walk-in customers until the Government Center re-opens to the public. We will continue to provide limited services by phone, email and postal service. Soil erosion permits are still being accepted, preferably by e-mail, and will be prioritized and serviced based on essential needs. All permits that are issued will be mailed to the landowners. There will be no pick-up at the office. If you do not have access to e-mail there is a drop box in the lobby of the Government Center that will be checked daily for permits. Tree seedling orders are still being accepted and will be filled on a first come first serve basis as always. Please check our web site: www.leelanaucd.org for updates, availability and any possible changes regarding the pick-up date. We take the safety, health, and wellbeing of our employees, customers, and the community seriously. Therefore, in the wake of the COVID-19 virus, our offices will be closed to the public, but open to phone calls and email. In order to maintain our service level to you, and protect our employees, we are asking customers to NOT visit our office in-person from March 18th through May 15th pending recommendations from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. However, our Spring Seedling Sale is ongoing and orders are due April 9th. Please contact our office with any questions or to email or mail-in an order form: Leelanau Conservation District 8527 E Government Center Drive Suttons Bay, MI 49682 231.256.9783 klong@co.leelanau.mi.us The Leelanau Conservation District is sponsoring a “Shoreline Stabilization Workshop” on Wed, April 8th, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Leelanau County Government Center, lower level community room.
