EDUCATION & OUTREACH

At LCD, we value conservation education as a means to help people of all ages understand and appreciate Leelanau County’s natural resources.  Conservation education helps people understand how natural resources within an ecosystem affect each other and how resources can be used wisely for future generations to enjoy and benefit from as we do.  It enables critical thinking skills necessary to make sense of the ecological complexities of a given area.  Furthermore, it encourages people to act in a more responsible and proactive manner by making better-informed decisions.
