Professional Forestry

The Conservation District no longer retains a full-time forester on staff. However, we are committed to getting as much information to the public as possible, particularly filling the educational needs the private sector does not readily do. For active forest management we are happy to refer you to capable Consulting Foresters, or qualified professionals, who can help you with any forest management needs. Use the links below to find out more about forestry issues facing Leelanau County Residents and some good tips to use when managing your tree resources.

Also as winter is upon us here is an article written by a past forester that is still applicable today, proper timing of pruning.
